Creative Greetings to You! In this first expressive art journaling workshop of 2017 the focus will be on a Vision Board two page spread. A vision board is a tool to help clarify, maintain focus, and problem solve on how to acheive specific life goals. If you have recieved this blog, you have begun your art journal and have hopefully been having fun with intuitive backgrounds, pages in stages, and letting the pages emerge in what they have to say to you. We have in fact been doing vision boarding through themes that emerge as we play with materials. For January 5th's community outreach workshop at Harris House in New Smyrna Beach bring words, images, or scraps that relate to your vision of 2017 in terms of how you respond to it. Here are some prompts to get you thinking of your two page spread. Remember, it can be a very simple vision or more complex. Don't know what you want in this new year? Then simply enjoy the unfolding process of self discovery through playing with mixed media journaling and see what comes your way. You do not have to do a vision board for this workshop as the theme is your choice. In a lot of the intuitive watercolor and writing workshops I have facilitated, participants have created beautiful abstract watercolors as a result of playing, exploring, and letting liquid watercolor do what it does best. I have found that a decent quality gel pen can be applied to the dry painting, to create words of inspiration without clogging or ruining the pen as with a regular ink pen. The white gel pen is completely delicious to use! |
